Dance & Theater Attire Guidelines

The Conservatory of Music and Dance

Proper attire helps students feel confident, move safely, and perform at their best.
 All required dancewear and shoes are available at Cathy’s Capezio, our on-site store inside the Worcester campus.

🩰 Dance Attire by Class

Toddler + Me (Tumble & Dance)

  • Shoes: Not required
  • Tights: Not required
  • Leotard: Any color
  • Hair: Pulled back and away from face
  • Boys: Sweatpants and t-shirt

     

Combo (Ballet/Tap/Creative Movement)

  • Shoes: Pink ballet slippers and white tap shoes
     Boys: Black ballet and tap shoes
  • Tights: Ballet pink
  • Leotard: Any color
  • Hair: Bun or ponytail
  • Boys: Black jazz pants or sweatpants, white t-shirt

     

Ballet for Tots

  • Shoes: Pink ballet slippers
  • Tights: Ballet pink
  • Leotard: Any color
  • Hair: Bun and away from face
  • Boys: Black jazz pants, white t-shirt

     

Hip Hop Kidz

  • Shoes: Black jazz sneakers or white-bottom sneakers (no dark soles)
  • Outfit: COMAD t-shirt, black dance shorts or sweatpants
  • Hair: Pulled back and away from face

     

Ballet / Jazz Combo

  • Shoes: Pink ballet slippers and tan jazz shoes
     Boys: Black ballet and jazz shoes
  • Tights: Ballet pink, black, or flesh tone
  • Leotard: Any color
  • Hair: Bun or ponytail
  • Optional: Ballet skirt

     

Jazz / Tap

  • Shoes: Tan jazz shoes, white or tan tap shoes
     Boys: Black jazz and tap shoes
  • Outfit: Leotard or fitted dance top (any color), black jazz pants or dance shorts
  • Hair: Pulled back — no baggy clothes

     

Tap

  • Shoes: Black tap shoes
  • Outfit: Leotard or dance top, black jazz pants or shorts
  • Hair: Pulled back — no baggy clothes

     

Hip Hop

  • Shoes: Black jazz sneakers or white-bottom sneakers (no scuffing soles)
  • Outfit: COMAD t-shirt, black dance shorts or sweatpants

Ballet
