PRE REGISTRATION

  • Pre registration is a chance for you to get your students back on your schedule for the following year.  Your salary and raise depends on this. It is costly to advertise for new students and if you retain your students and grow your students, we can afford higher salaries for you.

STUDENT COMMUNICATION

  • Teachers may speak to students only through the office.  You may not text, facebook, tweet or communicate with the students through any internet or other means.  Our office managers will deliver all messages and supply this communication. You are responsible to remind them of calendar events and point out on the bulletin board their recital info. Please do not verbally communicate it to avoid incorrect info. Point it out on the bulletin board.

RETAINING YOUR STUDENTS

  • Your position in the school is based on how well you retain your students. Be sure to take a serious approach to our VIP week. If you retain your students and hear positive feedback from parents then we know that you are a part of the growth of our program. If you are not retaining students within a two year time, we have to reconsider your position at the Conservatory. Please always ask us for help! We have great ideas and experience to help you be successful.

TIPS FOR SPEAKING TO PARENTS

  • Always have a conversation with parents in the beginning to tell them what you expect about attire and classroom rules. Be very kind about this but be firm. Example: Just a few important notes: Please be sure the students are dressed properly for class. If you arrive late, please dress the students outside the door and only send them in after they are ready for class. Please understand that the other students class is in session so we ask that you do not ask questions but quietly send the student in and we will be happy to settle them into class. Please avoid sending the students in with dolls, jewelry or additional props. We will open the door at the end of some of the classes to bring you into watch.

  • ALWAYs keep your door closed.

  • Please note that I would like to be sure that when you speak to the kids in the classroom you do not refer to CATHY C(OWNERS) as giving the instructions or policies. You want to use the script, "Our, We", Ex. " Our policy for selecting.. We plan to have our Performance... This shows your support for decisions and is much more professional then "Mrs. C said that ....." This statement often seems like blame rather than support.
